Floor-to-ceiling windows in the forest, right next door to SantaPark.
What is the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel?
A forest hotel on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, with suites built around floor-to-ceiling windows facing the trees and the northern sky.
The hotel says you can see the northern lights from bed when they’re out. Its website also lists Hidden Arctic Cloud Villas and the adults-only Aino Private Island Hotel.
Where does everyone sleep at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel?
Families have two main options: connecting TreeHouse Suites, or an Arctic GlassHouse with two bedrooms.
- Arctic TreeHouse Suite: the standard suite. Seven of them have a kitchenette and can be connected to the room next door to make a family suite
- Arctic GlassHouse: two bedrooms and a private sauna
- ArcticScene Executive Suite: a separate bedroom and living room, a glazed terrace with a fireplace, and a wellness area
The hotel’s pages we checked don’t publish bed setups or maximum guests per room, so ask before booking how many beds you actually get, and whether the connecting family suite is guaranteed or on request.
How close is the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel to SantaPark and Santa Claus Village?
SantaPark is next door, about 100 m away, and Santa Claus Village is within walking distance.
That’s the big draw for families: you can walk to SantaPark in the morning without a taxi. (We loved SantaPark; Santa Claus Village, less so.)
Where do you eat at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel?
At Rakas, the hotel’s restaurant. The name is Finnish for “beloved.”
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel or Apukka Resort?
It depends on whether you want to walk to Santa or have the activities on your doorstep.
The TreeHouse wins on location: SantaPark next door and Santa Claus Village on foot. Apukka, where we stayed, is about 10 minutes from Santa Claus Village by taxi, but its huskies, snowmobiles, Snow & Fun day and Reindeer Ride to Santa all start at the resort, and our Aurora Family Cabin slept four comfortably with a separate bedroom.
If your kids are small and you plan to spend most days at SantaPark and the village, the TreeHouse makes sense. If you want a full winter-activities resort, look at our Apukka review and what we did there.
