Cookie policy

Last updated November 1, 2026.

A cookie is a small file a site stores on your browser. We also use similar storage, such as local storage, for the same kinds of jobs. This page says which ones BanVoyage uses. The privacy policy covers the legal bases, how long we keep the data, and your rights.

Necessary

These keep the site working and remember this choice. They do not measure advertising. bv_consent stores your analytics and marketing choice for 12 months. bv_cc stores the country code our host, Vercel, provides in the x-vercel-ip-country header, so visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland start with optional cookies off. bv_notice remembers that you closed the notice in places where a choice is not required. You can still open any time.

Analytics

These tell us which guides are read. Google Analytics 4 (G-VTL1F656LZ) loads through Google Tag Manager (GTM-KVR2RPBJ). PostHog is loaded from /ingest on this site. Session recording masks inputs, and the newsletter form is left out. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, these stay off, with no PostHog cookie and no recording, until you accept. Elsewhere they are on until you reject them.

Marketing and affiliate

These measure affiliate links. Travelpayouts is the one that can run on our pages, and its script loads through Google Tag Manager only when marketing cookies are allowed. Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, Impact.com, FlexOffers (Turo), Bankrate, CreditCards.com, and CardRatings set their own cookies after you click a link, on their sites, to credit a purchase, a booking, or an approved card application. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, marketing cookies stay off until you accept. Elsewhere they are on until you reject them, or until your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
